OWNER’S MESSAGE TO THE MEMBERS

Burbank Athletic Club is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of its members by providing them with an optimal fitness experience. Our clubs set the standard for quality and effectiveness by offering innovative programs, technologically advanced equipment, and current exercise methods, for all levels of fitness. At the Burbank Athletic Club each staff member is CPR and AED certified. Our qualified staff will provide the utmost in service, knowledge, and instruction to help our members achieve all of their fitness goals.

ABOUT THE OWNER

greg_bedrossianGreg Bedrossian is a dedicated fitness professional having worked in the fitness industry for over 17 years. His dedication to fitness began early on. Born with a ventricular septal defect (hole in the heart), Greg was instructed by his doctors to avoid participating in sports. At the age of 4 he had surgery to repair his heart but was still discouraged from athletics, “use your mind not your body” he was told. Determined to overcome any limitations, Greg studied about health and fitness ultimately to help better himself. Over time he became extremely knowledgeable and aware of both the physical and psychological importance of health. With his passion for health Greg would begin his fitness career in 1991 employed as a staff fitness trainer at a national gym chain. He simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University Northridge, specializing in Resource Management, and also became certified in personal training by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In 1995 with his degree and fitness experience he started his own personal training business, which he continues to operate successfully for 13+ years. During this time Greg aspired to take on the challenge of health club ownership. Continuing to fuel his knowledge for fitness Greg has been a regular attendee of trade shows and fitness conventions keeping current on all industry innovations. Through his success as a personal trainer and his passion for fitness Greg accomplished his goal of ownership. In October of 2007 Greg took over the very facilities where he had gained most of his experience and created the Burbank Athletic Clubs. With his education in business, the goodwill he has established within the Burbank community, and through his personal experiences he is now helping members make lasting changes that will enhance their lives.

Shawn Henson

A dedicated member of our early AM team, Shawn has been teaching indoor cycling for more than 6 years. His class format consists of a short intense warm-up followed by a series of long successive climbs synchronized to a play list of mostly Alternative music. A Civil Engineer by trade with a Master’s degree, Shawn enjoys cycling as a great way stay in shape and to connect with people and music. In addition to completing the SPINNING┬« Instructor Orientation, Shawn is also an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. Since taking a full-time job at NBC Universal four years ago Shawn no longer has time to train clients privately. For now, you’ll just have to catch him in class- this Friday and every other-at 6:00am.
Lacey Wood

Lacey began her formal education at Loyola Marymount University where she studied yoga traditions under Dr. Christopher Chapple. She received her yoga certification at the same institution, where she studied Vinyasa Krama in the lineage of Krishnamacharya under his longest-standing student, Srivatsa Ramaswami. Lacey believes in yoga as a method of psychological healing, a strategy for structural maintenance, and a necessity for the health of the endocrine system. She takes particular interest in the roll of yoga in digestive health.
Amanda White

Amanda is a warrior. It’s hard not to agree–especially when you hear the story of her own battle for health and fitness (featured in People Magazine 2008). After struggling with weight issues for most of her life, Amanda made a serious commitment to lifestyle changes– including a healthful food plan and regular exercise. Four years later, she’s not only 200lbs lighter but she’s maintained her goal weight for over 3 years and is helping others lead healthier, more active lives. As a certified SPINNING instructor, Amanda happily channels her passion and dedication into high- energy group cycling classes. She’ll push you through endurance drills, hills, sprints, and more. Even the most reluctant exerciser will find it hard to resist her insistence that nothing is impossible as long as your heart and mind agree on the goal.

You’ll find Traci’s name all over the weekly schedule at BAC, and for good reason–she’s built a loyal following during her five-year tenure at our club. While many say it’s her passion and energy that motivate them, others love her grueling routine of endurance, climbs, sprints, and isolations. Just when you think you’re giving it your all, Traci hops off the bike and increases your tension. Traci relies on a killer play list of today’s hottest pop, hip-hop, dance and alternative music to help motivate the class through her rigorous workout. Whether you’re looking for an early AM, evening, or weekend workout, Traci’s class is one you won’t want to miss. Traci is a certified SPINNING┬« instructor.
